Brogo Car pooling Service

Go to www.tripmeeter.org, type in the password “brogo” and you can access this new neighbourhood carpool.

Brogo residents Liam McManus and Averil Fink have organised the website with help from the technical expertise of Josh Brown.

The idea is to cut down some of the many fuel km’s being used each day as so many Brogo residents travel into Bega for work.

Although many neighbours already make the effort to car-share when they can, this is often very hard to organize since people need to leave Bega at different times.

The website brings together information about arrival and departure times, and it is hoped that this will increase the likelihood of people being able to travel together – perhaps going into town with one person and coming back with someone else.

In order to keep the system simple the website only has information about offers of rides. It is then up to the person wishing to catch a ride to make telephone contact to finalise pickup points and any other information. It is up to individuals to offer fuel contributions.

Brogo Carpool is the first initiative of tripmeeter.org. If it is successful it is hoped to add other areas in the Bega Valley. Anyone in the triangle living north of Brogo could also use the carpool for travel to Bega for at least the southern part of the trip.

The carpool will only work if the drivers enter their travel intentions (remember it’s simple to [edit] or [delete] entries if your plans change). Please post your travel details. It will be a worthwhile contribution to preserving our environment as well as saving costs.
